Does MyCited Use AI?
It sure does! Every time you capture an audio passage in MyCited, the transcription is generated by AI. This kind of task-related AI is referred to as Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) and specifically uses Natural Language Processing to recognize patterns in speech to produce reliable representations of that speech in text format.
Do you use your own AI or a Third Party Service?
We’re a startup and frankly can’t afford to make our own AI. But just you wait! For now, we are using OpenAI to support our transcription service.
Does that mean that some machine is keeping track of the information I am asking it to transcribe?
OpenAI states that it uses data from transcription requests to improve its models, but this data is anonymized and is not tied to your user account. This means that while the AI processes your transcription, it does not store personally identifiable information or associate the data with you. Additionally, we do not retain transcripts beyond what is needed for delivering service.
Does MyCited use Generative AI?
No Generative AI here. Only 100% cage free organic free range content—that is,unless you decided to save a passage that was generated by generative AI. But that’s entirely up to you!
Do I have to use the AI in MyCited?
Nope. If you don’t like the idea of a machine assist, you can kick it totally organic and simply copy/paste or type your information into your library.
